  • "When it comes to holistic mental health therapy and supports you can't go wrong with Amy Stenger-Sullivan and her team at Rooted Compassion. Amy leads her team mindfully, centers her understanding of Polyvagal Theory in both theory and practice, and is helping a new generation of therapists (and clients!) meet one another at the root of what's going on vs. getting distracted by symptomology. Rooted Compassion is the group I always trust when folks ask me for a referral. I admire their efforts, expertise and the compassionate lens through with they work!"

Amy’s contribution to understanding Polyvagal Theory has widened my knowledge as a person and clinician. And for that, I have tremendous gratitude.”

Guided by Experience and Expertise

Amy Sullivan, MA, LPCC-S
Founder & Lead Facilitator

Amy is not just a teacher of this work; she is a living practitioner of it. Her clinical experience is the very bedrock upon which Root to Rewire was built. She saw that helping professionals—therapists, social workers, first responders—were desperately seeking more effective tools to help their clients navigate trauma, but often found available training to be either too theoretical or disconnected from real-world clinical challenges.

Driven by a desire to bridge this gap, she distilled her years of hands-on experience, somatic expertise, and deep understanding of neurobiology into the accessible and powerful “Root to Rewire” framework. She created the “Rooted Routes” map to visually capture the non-linear, deeply personal nature of healing that she observed time and again with her clients.

At Root to Rewire, Amy’s vision is to empower a community of practitioners. She believes that by equipping helpers with a nervous system lens, we can create a ripple effect of resilience, safety, and connection that transforms not only individual lives but entire communities.
